VARIOUS OTHERS (VO) is the international "format” of the Munich art scene. The cities key players―galleries, artist-run spaces and institutions—welcome everybody to discover the vibrant diversity of the city’s art venues. In collaboration with a changing array of international partners, we present a contemporary art festival set against the unique background of the Bavarian capital. VO not only marks the beginning of the art season in Munich but has also established itself as a staple in the international art calendar.
Through VO's partnership concept, galleries and artist-run spaces join forces to co-create exhibitions in Munich, thereby enhancing international exchange and cooperation. Alongside invited artists, galleries, curators, and artist-run spaces, VO with its 36 participating venues stands out as a unique festival and a communal platform for artists and art enthusiasts alike.
VARIOUS OTHERS is organized by the association VFAMK e.V.—the "Verein zur Förderung der Außenwahrnehmung Münchens als Kunststandort," a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting contemporary art in Munich and enhancing its international profile. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the unwavering support of our long-standing partners and members, as well as the tireless dedication of our active participants, all of whom are essential to the success and vitality of VARIOUS OTHERS.
VARIOUS OTHERS (VO) ist das internationale "Format" der Münchner Kunstszene. Die wichtigsten Akteure der Stadt – Galerien, Artist-Run-Spaces und Institutionen – heißen jeden willkommen, die lebendige kulturelle Vielfalt Münchens zu entdecken. In Zusammenarbeit mit einer wechselnden Auswahl internationaler Partner präsentiert VO ein zeitgenössisches Kunstfestival im einzigartigen Ambiente der bayerischen Landeshauptstadt. VO markiert nicht nur den Beginn der Kunstsaison in München, sondern hat sich auch als fester Bestandteil im internationalen Kunstkalender etabliert.
Durch das Kooperationskonzept von VO – Galerien und Artist-Run-Spaces laden Partner ein, um gemeinsam Ausstellungen in München zu gestalten – fördern wir den internationalen Austausch und die Zusammenarbeit. Die 36 teilnehmenden Orte, zusammen mit den eingeladenen Galerien, Artist-Run-Spaces und Kurator:innen, machen VO zu einem einzigartigen Festival und internationalen Treffpunkt für Künstler:innen, Kunstschaffende und Kunstliebhaber:innen.
VARIOUS OTHERS wird von dem Verein VFAMK e.V. organisiert – dem "Verein zur Förderung der Außenwahrnehmung Münchens als Kunststandort", einer gemeinnützigen Organisation, die sich der Förderung zeitgenössischer Kunst in München und der Verbesserung ihres internationalen Profils widmet.
